How do you build in a liquid context, in which even the foundation soil changes rapidly?

The Bouquetins Refugium (1975) was built at an altitude of 2980 meters in the Val d’Hérens. Today, the huts are sinking every year by a few centimeters due to the thawing permafrost. In view of this problem, a flexible structure has been designed to allow both existing and new modules to dock onto a central rock tower – ISS meets prehistorical rock sculptures. The entire project is conceived as an infrastructure project that documents and reacts upon environmental change.
