Garden of Gucci
Introducing completion, vitality and romance into the Colosseum is the beloved couture house of Gucci. Both the pride of Italy and cornerstones of grandeur, presented is a harmonious union of the rectilinear and the fluid, the historical and the eclectic, the enduring and the ephemeral. The drawing style is inspired by historical drawings from the RIBA archive. Pink hues represent the Colosseum, fully intact and drawn-in; while green hues represent the additions of the House.
The central bridge and cavea mainly hosts runways, its ruins adorned with flowers and is surrounded by water reminiscent of early naumachiae. The first floor retails the season’s Ready-to-Wear, and is connected to the second floor which displays the House’ creative processes such as tailoring, repairs and workshops. The third floor exhibits the archives, while the fourth floor accommodates sky dining which overlooks the entire ensemble.
The concept of this design is the motif. A pattern, a repetition – or a continuation.
