 Project Haven: Chai Wan

The main idea of this project is reactivating and transforming the Chai Wan Cargo Handling Area to a Waterfront Promenade for all by promoting water-friendly culture, providing public open space (POS) and ecology educational services. This site is in between Heng Fa Cheun and Siu Sai Wan and surrounded by a bunch of industrial buildings. Although there’s a potential coastline and a dragon boating community but people couldn’t really contact with the water and that community as those abandoned industrial structures occupied. The whole design scheme is separated into 4 phases and different design elements which aiming to solve different problems. The design elements are Aqua-market, Aqua-metro (pipes logistic system between berth and market), Aqua-garten (aquatic care taking centre – “aqua”+“kindergarten”), Aqua-transit (bridge) and Public Berths.
