Urban Stormwater Management in City of Calgary Canada

2 mn read

During the summer season walking in the UIQ park, I realized that the pond/wetland in UIQ research park is the most enjoyable and relaxing area on-site. My project intends to re-introduce the helpful stormwater management methods to the UIQ park areas. By doing so, the project would get inspiration ideas from the existing constructed wetland since it is one of the major supporting elements on-site. Moreover, the project would visualize the process of stormwater management on-site to fulfill educational purposes and create a meaningful sense of place through the research park area for both wildlife and surrounding residents. Ultimately, the project would integrate elements of landscape design to the wetland area for better function in the winter season.
